6. IPPBX Basic Dialing Procedures
6.1 User (D) dials User (A) as the Operator

Dialing steps:
- (D) picks up the phone and hears the dial tone from Telstra
- (D) dials 9288 1111 and hears the ring back tone from Telstra. (X3510) picks up the call and plays the welcome greeting.
- (D) dials 0 (Operator Code). (A) phone is now ringing (Ext. 501 is assigned as Operator)
- (A) picks up the phone and talks with (D)
6.2 User (D) dials User (A), then Transferred to User (C)

Dialing steps:
- (D) picks up the phone and hears the dial tone from Telstra
- (D) dials 9288 1111 and hears the ring back tone from Telstra, (X3510) picks up the call and plays the welcome greeting
- (D) dials 0 (Operator Code), (A) phone is ringing (Ext. 501 is assigned as Operator)
- (A) picks up the phone and talks with (D)
- The conversation continues, (A) presses Flash/Record Button, dials 503# and hears the ring back tone. (C) phone is now ringing, then (A) hangs up phone
- (C) picks up the phone and talks with (D)
Tip: In this example we use Panasonic DECT phone KX-TG6521. The Record Button on this model is located as below:

6.3 User (D) dials User (A), User (A) dials User (B) and Connect User (B) with User (D)

Dialing steps:
- (D) picks up the phone and hears the dial tone from Telstra
- (D) dials 9288 1111 and hears the ring back tone from Telstra, (X3510) picks up the call and plays the welcome greeting
- (D) dials 0 (Operator Code), (A) phone is ringing (Ext. 501 is assigned as Operator)
- (A) picks up the phone and talks with (D)
- The conversation continues, (A) presses Flash/Record Button, and dials 502# (Ext. Number) and hears the ring back tone, (B) phone is now ringing
- (B) picks up the phone and talks with (A)
- After conversing with (B), (A) hangs up the phone and (B) talks with (D)
Tip: If (B) doesn’t want to speak to (D), or else if (B) is busy/not available, (A) can press Flash/Record Button and speaks with (D).
6.4 User (D) dials User (A), and User (B) picks up the call

Dialing steps:
- (D) picks up the phone and hears the dial tone from Telstra
- (D) dials 9288 1111 and hears the ring back tone from Telstra, (X3510) picks up the call and plays the welcome greeting
- (D) dials 501# (Ext. Number), (A) phone is ringing. (B) hears it ringing.
- (B) picks up (B) phone and dials*1501# (Call Pick Up) and talks with (D)
Tip: There are two methods for Call Pick Up:
Method 1: *1 + [Ext. Number]
Method 2: *1# (Pick up same group calls, for example Ext. 501 and Ext. 502 are in Sales group, when Ext. 501 is ringing, Ext. 502 can dial *1# to pick up call.)
(Optional):
To change Call Pick Up code, *1, log into VigorIPPBX, under IP PBX >> PBX System >> SIP Proxy Setting, change Call Pickup Number to another code combination, e.g. *9.
