4. Setting up VigorIPPBX 2820n and Extensions in the Branch Office:

Below are steps for setting up the VigorIPPBX 2820n and parts:

  1. Set up Internet connections
  2. Set up phone extensions
  3. Record Greeting
  4. Set up Hunt Groups
  5. Set up PSTN Trunk
  6. Set up SIP Trunk
  7. Set up Time and Date
  8. Set up Office Hours

4.1. Set up Internet Connections

To set up Internet connections, refer to the Quick Setup Guide for VigorIPPBX 2820 series: http://www.i-lan.net.au/downloads/VigorIPPBX2820/Documents/QSG-VigorIPPBX+2820-V1.0.pdf

4.2. Setup phone extensions

Set up Ext. 301:

  1. Login to (X2820n). Username: admin, no password
    In our example, IP Address: 192.168.200.1
  2. Go to IP PBX >> Extension and click 41-50
  3. Click index #50
  4. Change Extension Number to 301
  5. Tick SIP1 to SIP6, and PSTN (In our example, we set no restrictions for each extension so they can access any trunk)
  6. Click OK to complete

Ext. 302:

  1. Log into (X2820). Username: admin, no password
    In our example, IP Address: 192.168.200.1
  2. Go to IP PBX >> Extension and click Index #1
  3. Enable Internal Phone Extension Active
  4. Enter Extension Number 302
  5. Enter Display Name 302
  6. Enter Password 302
  7. Enter Voice mail Password 302
  8. Tick SIP1 to SIP6, and PSTN (In our example, we set no restrictions for each extension so they can access any trunk)
  9. Click OK to complete
  10. With VigorPhone 350 connected, login to it. Username: admin, no password
    In our example, IP Address: 192.168.200.11
  11. Click SIP Accounts and click ID #1
  12. Enable Registration
  13. Enter Registration ID 302
  14. Enter Display Name 302
  15. Enter Password 302
  16. Enter Registration Server 192.168.200.1
  17. Enter Authentication Name 302
  18. Click OK to complete

Ext. 303:

  1. Log into (X2820). Username: admin, no password
    In our example, IP Address: 192.168.200.1
  2. Go to IP PBX >> Extension and click Index #2
  3. Enable Internal Phone Extension Active
  4. Click Allow Registration from WAN
  5. Enter Extension Number 303
  6. Enter Display Name 303
  7. Enter Password 303
  8. Enter Voice mail Password 303
  9. Tick SIP1 to SIP6, and PSTN (In our example, we set no restriction for each extension so they can access any trunk)
  10. Click OK to complete
  11. Run DrayTek Soft Phone on the PC/Notebook
    If it is not available on the PC/Notebook please download then install from the link below.
    http://www.i-lan.net.au/downloads/Tools/Softphone/V1.2.0/DrayTek_SoftPhone_V1.2.0.zip
  12. Click Setting tab and click Add
  13. Type SIP Proxy address: 192.168.200.1
    If the PC/Notebook registered is from LAN side please enter Router’s IP Address
    In our example (X2820n)’s IP address is 192.168.200.1
    If it is registered from WAN side please enter WAN IP Address
    In our example (X2820n)’s WAN IP address is 192.168.1.18
  14. Enter Display name 303
  15. Enter Extension number 303
  16. Enter Authentication ID 303
  17. Enter Password 303
  18. Click OK to complete

4.3. Record Greeting

For the office hours greeting:

  • Connect a phone to the (X2820n)’s FXS port directly.
  • Dial **** to access IVR system.
  • After hearing the prompt, dial 1155# to start recording the Prompt 5 for the office hours greeting.
    In our example, recording is: recording,  please press 2, to re-record
    “Welcome to Ice Cream Inc., For sales please press 1, for product support please press 2, to speak to an operator please press 0. Alternatively, dial the extension you require if you know it.”
  • When you finish the recording, press #
  • To play back your recording press 2. To re-record, press 3. To save your recording, press 1.
  • After saving Prompt 5 recording, to hear it again dial 1255#
  • If you are still not satisfied with the result, dial 1155# to record it again.

For the non-office hours greeting:

  • Connect a phone to the (X2820n)’s FXS port directly.
  • Dial **** to access IVR system.
  • After hearing the prompt, dial 1156# to start recording Prompt 6, for the non-office hours greeting.
    In our example, the recording is:
    “Thank you for calling Ice Cream Inc., We are currently closed. Our office hours are Monday to Friday, 9AM to 6PM.  Please call back during our office hours so that we may assist you. Thank you for calling Ice Cream Inc Australia, goodbye.”
  • When you finish the record, press #
  • To play back your recording, press 2. To re-record your greeting, press 3. To save your recording, press 1.
  • After saving Prompt 6, to hear it again dial 1256#
  • If you still not satisfied with the result, dial 1156# to record it again..

DrayTek provides 11 prompts in total for recording. Prompt 5, Prompt 6 and Prompt 11 respectively are reserved for office hours greeting, non-office hours greeting and music on hold. You may record your own additional prompts for purposes such as product advertisement, festive/events greetings, season greetings or Christmas office hours. Below are the access codes for recording additional prompts.

4.4. Set up Hunt Groups

  1. Log into (X2820n). Username: admin, no password
    In our example, IP Address: 192.168.200.1
  2. Go to IP PBX >> PBX System
  3. Click Hunt Group
  4. Click Index #1
  5. Type any name (in our example we use Support) in Hunt Group Name
  6. Type any number (in our example we use 300) in Hunt Group Extension
  7. Select the extension 302 and click Add button
  8. Select the extension 303 and click Add button
    In our example, ext.302 & 303 are the extensions for Support group
  9. Click OK to complete

4.5. Set up PSTN Trunk

  1. Log into (X2820n). Username: admin, no password
    In our example, IP Address: 192.168.200.1
  2. Go to IP PBX >> Line Setting
  3. Click PSTN Trunk
  4. Make sure Office hours answer mode & Non-Office hours answer mode are selected to Auto Attendant
  5. Click OK to complete

4.6. Set up SIP Trunk

  1. Log into (X2820n). Username: admin, no password In our example,
    IP Address: 192.168.200.1
  2. Go to IP PBX >> Line Setting
  3. Click SIP Trunk
  4. Click Index #1
  5. Set up SIP Trunk, in our example we use Internode NodePhone VoIP

    http://www.internode.on.net/residential/phone_and_voip/nodephone_voip/

  6. Type your SIP provider name (in our example, Internode) under Profile Name
  7. Type your SIP domain (in our example, sip.internode.on.net) in Domain/Realm
  8. Type your SIP proxy (in our example, sip.internode.on.net) in Proxy
  9. Type your SIP phone number (in our example, 0288405177) in Display Name
  10. Type your SIP account name in Account Number/Name
  11. Click Authentication ID and type your ID in Authentication ID
  12. Enter your password in Password
  13. Change Expiry Time to 10 mins
  14. Make sure Office hours Answer mode & Non-Office Hours answer mode are all selected to Auto Attendant
  15. Click OK to complete

4.7. Set up Time and Date

  1. Log into (X2820n). Username: admin, no password
    In our example, IP Address: 192.168.200.1
  2. Go to System Maintenance >> Time and Date
  3. Select Time Zone to GMT +12:00 for  Auckland office
  4. (Optional) Click Enable Daylight Saving if necessary
  5. Click OK to complete

4.8. Set up Office Hours & Auto Attendant

  1. Log into (X2820n). Username: admin, no password
    In our example, IP Address: 192.168.200.1
  2. Go to IP PBX >> PBX System
  3. Click Office Hours
  4. Set Office Hours Start hour 9:00
  5. Set Office Hours End hour 18:00
  6. Click Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, and Fri for Office Hours
  7. (Optional) Set up Holiday Setting. For example, January 1-4 for New Year, June 6 for Queen’s Birthday etc.
  8. Click OK to complete
  9. Go to IP PBX >> PBX System
  10. Click Auto Attendant Wizard
  11. Set Operator: Key 0 >> Ring Extension >> Extension 301 (in our example, we set extension 301 as our operator, the ext.301 is on bottom of selection page, so drag down to the last option and select index #50)
  12. Set Sales Department: Key 1 >> Ring Extension >> Extension 301
  13. Set Support Department: Key 2 >> Ring Hunt Group >> Group 300
  14. (Optional) In the case someone presses the wrong key, redirect to the Operator (in our example appoint key 3~9 to Ex. 301)
  15. Click Next to the next page
  16. Set up Non-Office Hours, in our example all keys are directed to Operator, ext.301
  17. Click Next to next page
  18. Click OK to complete

DrayTek Multi-WAN Security IPPBX System Training Guide

1. Introduction

Following its success in VoIP routers, DrayTek has introduced a complete IPPBX solution range to the global market. They have integrated IPPBX functions with DrayTek routers’ strongest features, including Firewall, VPN, WLAN, and Bandwidth Management. The resultant range of DrayTek IPPBX solutions includes: VigorIPPBX 2820, VigorIPPBX 3510, VigorPhone 350, VigorATA A24 SH and DrayTek Softphone.

This training guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to set up a demonstration of IPPBX systems across different locations, linked via the Internet. In this way, you – DrayTek resellers or network administrators, will learn how to set up a DrayTek IPPBX device for a secure and reliable and feature rich IPPBX system.

2. Demonstration IPPBX System Scenario

This training guide is based on a fictitious company, Ice Cream Inc., that has a company phone system structured as below:

Below are details of the VigorIPPBX models, IP phones for extensions, and the connections with Internet and PSTN, employed by Ice Cream Inc..

Head Office:

Model: VigorIPPBX 3510 with 4 x FXS and 4 x FXO ports and labeled as (X3510)
PSTN Trunk: +61 2 9288 1111 is connected to (X3510)’s 1st FXO port at Sydney, Australia
VoIP Trunk: 61290467700 VoIP account is set up on (X3510)
Extension No: 501 is connected to (X3510)’s 1st FXS port and labeled as (A)
Extension No: 502 is set up on VigorPhone 350 and connected to (X3510)’s 1st Ethernet port, labeled as (B)
Extension No: 503 is set up on Smart Phone and labeled as (C)
PSTN Line: +61 2 9288 2222 is connected via Telstra network at Sydney, Australia and labeled as (D)

Branch Office:

Model: VigorIPPBX 2820n with 2 x FXS and 1 x FXO ports and labeled as (X2820n)
PSTN Trunk: +64 9 366 1111 is connected to (X2820n)’s FXO port at Auckland, New Zealand
VoIP Trunk: 0288405177 VoIP account is set up on (X2820n)
Extension No: 301 is connected to (X2820n)’s 1st FXS port and labeled as (E)
Extension No: 302 is set up on VigorPhone 350 and connected to (X2820n)’s 1st Ethernet port and labeled as (F)
Extension No: 303 is set up on Wireless notebook via DrayTek Soft Phone and labeled as (G)
PSTN Line: +64 9 366 2222 is connected via Telcom network at Auckland, New Zealand and labeled as (H)

3. Setting up VigorIPPBX 3510 and Extensions in the Head Office

Below are steps for setting up the VigorIPPBX 3510 and parts:

  1. Set up Internet connections
  2. Set up phone extensions
  3. Record Greeting
  4. Set up Hunt Groups
  5. Set up PSTN Trunk
  6. Set up SIP Trunk
  7. Set up Time and Date
  8. Set up Office Hours & Auto Attendant

3.1. Set up Internet connections

To set up the Internet connections, refer to the Quick Setup Guide for VigorIPPBX 3510:

3.2. Set up phone extensions

Set up Ext. 501:

  1. Login to (X3510) with username: admin, no password
    In our example, the IP Address is: 192.168.100.1
  2. Go to IP PBX >> PBX System >> Phone Setting
  3. Click Index #1
  4. Click Enable for Phone Extension Active
  5. Change Extension Number to 501
  6. Enter Voice mail Password 501
  7. Tick SIP1 to SIP6 (In our example, we set no restriction for each extension so they can access any trunk)
  8. Tick PSTN1 to PSTN4
  9. Click OK to complete

Ext. 502:

  1. Login to (X3510). Username: admin, no password
    In our example, IP Address: 192.168.100.1
  2. Go to IP PBX >> Extension and click Index #1
  3. Enable Internal Phone Extension Active
  4. Enter Extension Number 502
  5. Enter Display Name 502
  6. Enter Password 502
  7. Enter Voice mail Password 502
  8. Tick SIP1 to SIP6 (In our example, we set no restriction for each extension so they can access any trunk)
  9. Tick PSTN1 to PSTN4
  10. Click OK to complete
  11. Login to VigorPhone 350. Username: admin, no password
    In our example, IP Address: 192.168.100.11
  12. Click SIP Accounts and click ID #1
  13. Enable Registration
  14. Enter Registration ID 502
  15. Enter Display Name 502
  16. Enter Password 502
  17. Enter Registration Server 192.168.100.1
  18. Enter Authentication Name 502
  19. Click OK

Ext. 503:

  1. Login to (X3510). Username: admin, no password
    In our example, IP Address: 192.168.100.1
  2. Go to IP PBX >> Extension and click Index #2
  3. Enable Internal Phone Extension Active
  4. Click Allow Registration from WAN
  5. Enter Extension Number 503
  6. Enter Display Name 503
  7. Enter Password 503
  8. Enter Voice mail Password 503
  9. Tick SIP1 to SIP6 (In our example, we set no restriction for each extension so they can access any trunk)
  10. Tick PSTN1 to PSTN4
  11. Click OK
  12. Run Sipdroid on your Smart Phone
    In our example we use HTC Desire Android 2.2
    To download this software please go to Android Market and search for Sipdroid
  13. Click menu go to Settings
  14. Click SIP Account
  15. Click Authorization Username and enter 503
  16. Click Password and enter 503
  17. Click Server or Proxy and enter WAN IP address
    In our example (X3510) WAN IP is 192.168.1.16
  18. Click Domain and enter 192.168.1.16
  19. Click Username or Caller ID and enter 503
  20. Tick Use WLAN if you connect Internet via Wireless LAN
  21. Tick Use 3G if you connect Internet via 3G Wireless

3.3. Record Greeting

The current firmware v3.5.0 does not support greeting recording via FXS port so you may need to download DrayTek IPPBX Voice Prompt Utility from http://www.i-lan.net.au/downloads/Tools/IPPBX_Voice_Prompt/DrayTek+IPPBX+Voice+Prompt+Utility.exe and record them using a PC microphone.

  1. Run IPPBX Voice Prompt Utility
  2. Select User Prompt #5 to record office hours greeting
  3. Click record icon .
    In our example, greeting record is:
    “Welcome to Ice Cream Inc. Australia. For sales please press 1, for product support please press 2, to speak to an operator please press 0. Alternatively, dial the extension you require if you know it.”
  4. You may click Play to play back your recording. If you don’t like your recording, you can click the record button to record again
  5. Click Save to save the recording as a prompt
  6. Select User Prompt #6 to record non-office hours greeting
  7. Click record icon .
    In our example, the pffice hours recording is:
    “Thank you for calling Ice Cream Inc Australia. We are currently closed. Our office hours are Monday to Friday, 9AM to 6PM.  Please call back during our office hours so that we may assist you. Thank you for calling Ice Cream Inc Australia, goodbye.”
  8. You may click Play to play back your recording. If you don’t like the prompt, you can click record button to record again
  9. Click Save to save the prompt
  10. Click Compiler tab
  11. Click Execute button
  12. Click Upload tab
  13. Unclick System Prompt
  14. Click choose button and select VigorIPPBX 3510 192.168.100.1
  15. Enter Username: admin, no password (default)
  16. Click Upload button
  17. When you finish, click OK and exit the program

3.4. Set up Hunt Groups

  1. Login to (X3510). Username: admin, no password
    In our example, IP Address: 192.168.100.1
  2. Go to IP PBX >> PBX System
  3. Click Hunt Group
  4. Select Index #1
  5. Type any name (in our example we use Sales) in Hunt Group Name
  6. Type any number (in our example we use  200) in Hunt Group Extension
  7. Select the extension 502 and click Add button
    In our example, ext. 501 & 502 are the extensions for the Sales group.
  8. Select the extension 501 and click Add button
    Ext. 501 is at the end of the list, drag down to the bottom and add it to the list.
  9. Click OK to complete

3.5. Set up PSTN Trunk

  1. Login to (X3510). Username: admin, no password
    In our example, IP Address: 192.168.100.1
  2. Go to IP PBX >> Line Setting
  3. Click PSTN Trunk
  4. Click Index #1
  5. Make sure Answer Modes are both selected with Auto Attendant and click OK to complete

3.6. Set up SIP Trunk

  1. Login to (X3510). Username: admin, no password
    In our example, IP Address: 192.168.100.1
  2. Go to IP PBX >> Line Setting
  3. Click SIP Trunk
  4. Click Index #1
  5. Set up SIP Trunk, in our example we use Internode Business NodePhone VoIP
    http://www.internode.on.net/business/phone_services/nodephone/
  6. Type your SIP provider name (in our example, Internode) under Profile Name
  7. Type your SIP domain (in our example, sipconnect.internode.on.net) in Domain/Realm
  8. Type your SIP proxy (in our example, sipconnect.internode.on.net) in Proxy
  9. Type your SIP phone number (in our example, 61290467700) in Display Name
  10. Type your SIP account name in Account Number/Name
  11. Click Authentication ID and type your ID in Authentication ID
  12. Enter your password in Password
  13. Change Expiry Time to 10 mins
  14. Make sure Office hours Answer mode & Non-Office Hours answer mode are all selected to Auto Attendant
  15. Click OK to complete

3.7. Set up Time and Date

  1. Login to (X3510). Username: admin, no password
    In our example, IP Address: 192.168.100.1
  2. Go to System Maintenance >> Time and Date
  3. Select Time Zone, in our example, GMT +10:00 for Sydney office
  4. (Optional) Click Enable Daylight Saving if required
  5. Click OK to complete

3.8. Set up Office Hours & Auto Attendant

  1. Login to (X3510). Username: admin, no password
    In our example, IP Address: 192.168.100.1
  2. Go to IP PBX >> PBX System
  3. Click Office Hours
  4. Set Office Hour Start hour 9:00
  5. Set Office Hour End hour 18:00
  6. Click Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, and Fri for Office Hours
  7. (Optional) Set up Holiday Setting. For example, January 1-3 for New Year, January 26 for Australia Day etc.
  8. Click OK to complete
  9. Go to IP PBX >> PBX System
  10. Click Auto Attendant Wizard
  11. Set Operator: Key 0 >> Ring Extension >> Extension 501 (in our example, we set Ext. 501 as our operator)
  12. Set Sales Department: Key 1 >> Ring Hunt Group >> Group 200
  13. Set Support Department: Key 2 >> Ring Extension >> Extension 503 (in our example, we set Ext. 503 as Support)
  14. (Optional) In the case someone presses the wrong key, redirect to the Operator (in our example we appoint key 3~9s to Ext. 501)
  15. Click Next to the next page
  16. Set up Non-Office Hours, in our example all keys directed to Operator, Ext. 501
  17. Click Next to next page
  18. Click OK to complete
